PURPOSE:To provide a ceramic material having excellent impact resistance and used for turbines. CONSTITUTION:The ceramic material comprises a polycrystalline ceramic and has an H/Y of 0.047-0.055 between a hardness H and a Young's modulus Y. The ceramic material is produced e.g. by compounding 85wt.% of alpha-type silicon nitride (alpha-Si3N4) powder with 15wt.% of a combustion auxiliary (Y2O3+Al2O3; Y2O3:Al2O3=2:1), adding alcohol to the mixture, sufficiently mixing the mixture with a ball mill, drying the product, molding the dried product under a molding weight of 4ton, preliminarily sintering the molded product, and further again sintering the product under a hot isotropic pressure. |
