The agent is used for treatment of infections in the eye and for preliminary treatment before surgical intervention. The water solution is highly stable, has enhanced efficiency and good physiological endurability. The agent is on the basis of 1-/p-chlorine-benzoil/5-metoxi-2-methylindole-3-tartaric acid, polyoxiethylene/20/sorbitan-monooleate, stabilizing substances and a buffer, which additionally contains propyleneglycol and high-molecular polyethylene oxide with m.m. 5x10<5> to 5x10<6>.
