The therapeutic treatment of cancer by a combined administration of methotrexate and an agonist of the A3 adenosine receptor. Provided are methods of therapeutic treatment comprising such a combined administration, pharmaceutical compositions useful in such methods as well as the use of any of these active agents for preparing such a pharmaceutical composition.
