PURPOSE:To obtain a printed matter inspection device capable of detecting the defects of printed matter with multi duplication and clearly indiacating a page where such defects generate in a proper way. CONSTITUTION:Information on the pictorial pattern of printed matter which is read using an image reading device 11 is sequentially stored in current value memory 14 through an A/D converter 12. If normal printed matter is obtained, information on the pictorial pattern is transferred to reference value memory 15 from the current value memory 14. After that, the data of the current value memory 14 and the reference value memory 15 are compared using a comparator 16, and the comparison results are supplied to CPU 17. CPU 17 detects the generation of print defects in accordance with the comparison results, then indicates a position where the print defects generate on an indication position 20 in units of ribbon position and cut position or page allocation. |
