FLAW DETECTING APPARATUS FOR REAR SURFACE OF WALL OF BOILER PIPE

PURPOSE:To deform the entire apparatus in the straight shape so as to facilitate conveyance into a boiler in a flaw detecting apparatus, wherein a flaw detecting sensor which is attached to the surface of a pipe wall is moved in the direction of the X axis and in the direction of the Y axis in the inside of the boiler. CONSTITUTION:Nuts 10 are screwed onto ball screws 7 and 8 of a pair of upper and lower X-axis frames 1 and 2. Both upper and lower ends of a Y-axis frame 3 are rotatably attached to the nuts 10 through hinge devices 11. A sensor device 13 is attached to a nut 17, which is screwed onto a ball screw 9 of the Y-axis frame 3. The X-axis frames 1 and 2 are attracted to a pipe-wall surface 14 with magnets 15 and 16. The flaw detection for the welded part of a hanger metal fitting 18 of a rear surface 12 of the pipe wall is performed with the ultrasonic sensor 13.
