METHOD FOR ETHYL ALCOHOL DEHYDRATION

This method is applicable for preparation of absolute ethyl alcohol, which is used in the pharmaceutical and chemical industries. The dehydration is realized with reduced cost for thermal energy and increased yield of dehydrated ethyl alcohol. The method for dehydration of ethyl alcohol through adsorption with thermally treated zeolite molecular sieve passes in two stages at normal temperature and atmospheric pressure. Partially dehydrated ethanol (with water content of 2-5 per cent) from the previous cycle is supplied during the first stage. Technical ethanol is supplied in the next stage with a volume rate of 0.12-0.35 hr<-1> and the regeneration of the zeolite is implemented through the supply of saturated steam.
