A supporting carcass for items of furniture, in particular chairs, is constructed from at least two parts which are separate but which can be releasably connected to each other. The first part consists of a supporting part 20, 30, 41, 42 and comprises side pieces 20, 30 which are connected to each other at one side section 21, 31. At the sides which are opposite to the side sections, there are attachment sections 25, 35 which can be tensioned towards or away from each other with the supporting part being elastically deformed. The second part consists of a locking part 50 which is designed with at least one locking section 54, 55 which interacts with the attachment sections 25, 35. The locking part retains the side pieces 20, 30 in the elastically deformed position of the first part 20, 30, 41, 42 while absorbing the tensional force, which is caused by the elastic deformation, between the attachment sections 25, 35. <IMAGE> |
