The cap for jars, especially jars with an outer rim on the mouth can be reused in the sterilization of products at home or under industrial conditions. The cap in closing and opening is subjected to elastic deformations only, which increases its life-time as well as safety and production efficiency due to the fact that it can be applied manually or by machine without appliances and with efforts excluding jar breakage. The cap is made of transparent thermostable plastic as one part and contains a cylinder part (7) and a bottom (1) consisting of mutually intersecting outer cone (2) and a truncated inside cone (4) showing vacuum in the part not filled in. The circumferential bed (6) with a sealing thermostable ring (13) in it is formed between the outer cone (2) and the cylindrical part (7). On the inside of the cylindrical part (7) there are formed holding ribs (8) at a distance from each other and from the tip of the holding rim (9) to the circumferential bed (6) of the sealing thermostable ring (13).
