摘要 PURPOSE:To enable the early discovery of the glaucoma by integrating the brightness of the images on the plural meridians at prescribed angular spacings around the papilla of eye-ground image and extracting the lacking part of the bundles of the optic nerve fibers of the eye-ground image by comparison with the plural meridians. CONSTITUTION:The radial meridians 6 centering at a center 3 of the optic nerve papilla are set at arbitrary angles between a small circle 4 and a large circle 5 by making the center 3 the center of concentrical circles and designating the peripheral edges of the optic nerve papilla as the small circle 4 and the large circle 5. The digital information of picture elements 2 distributed along the meridians 6 is added (integrated) with each of the respective meridians 6 and a histogram is formed for each component of an R signal, G signal and B signal by taking the division angle of the assigned meridians 6 at the axis of abscissa. If the envelope of the histograms are noticed at this time, a smooth change is indicated in the normal section of the bundles of the optic nerve fibers of the retina of the eye-ground but there is partially a difference in brightness and darkness in the lacking part and the part is expressed as a rapid partial drop. The fine lacking section is thus elucidated.
