<p>PURPOSE:To provide a novel compound useful as a synthetic intermediate for carbostyryl derivatives used as a cardiotonicum. CONSTITUTION:A compound of formula I {R<1> is phenyl-lower-alkyl; R<2> is formula II [R<3> is H, formyl; R<4> is nitro, NHR<7> (R<7> is H, acetyl)], carbostyryl-6-yl}, for example, 2-oxo-3-(3,4-dimethoxybenzyl)-5-(4-nitrophenoxy)methyloxazolidine. The compound of formula I is prepared, for example, by reacting a compound of formula III with a compound of formula IV (R<2a> is formula V; X is halogen) in a solvent such as THF in the presence of a base such as triethylamine.</p> |
