<p>A system and a method for providing a communication connection service between a video phone and a voice phone are provided to offer a voice call connection service between the video phone and the voice phone and offer video contents to the caller of a video call if a receiver uses the voice phone when the caller of the video phone originates a video call signal in a video call service network and a mobile phone service network, thereby directly performing a call connection through a video or a voice according to a type of a called phone. An MSC(Mobile Switching Center) or a gateway system(13) checks a called number when a video phone(11) transmits a video call signal, refers to called phone information corresponding to the called number, and routes call processing information when the called phone is a voice phone(16). A video call receiving unit(12) requests voice call setup and video media transmission according to the call processing information of the MSC or the gateway system, performs protocol and media converting functions, provides a voice call service between the video phone and the voice phone through the MSC or the gateway system in receiving the voice call response of the voice phone, and simultaneously receives video contents and provide the video contents to the video phone. An application server(17) checks the video media transmission request of the video call receiving unit and requests the transmission of the video contents according to a preset video media providing a scenario. A media transmission platform(18) checks the video contents transmission request of the application server, reads and reproduces the video contents stored in a media storage(19), and transmits the stored video contents to the video call receiving unit.</p> |
