PURPOSE:To enable easily separating a foamed cushioning material from another cushioning material in the use of a packing device consisting of a C type box in combination with a cushioning material used jointly with a foamed cushioning material and facilitate their disposal as waste or their recycled use. CONSTITUTION:A biangular, substantially U-shaped pad 15 consisting of corrugated cardboard and designed to be fitted on an object to be packed is provided with cushioning pieces of polystyrene foam 20, one on the front side 17 and the other on the back side 18. A line of incisions 21 demarcating a space about the size of the cushioning piece of polystyrene foam 20 is formed in the pad along the perimeter of the cushioning piece of polystyrene foam 20. By cutting out the space bounded by the incisions 21 the U-shaped pad 15 and the cushioning polystyrene foam 20 can be separated from each other easily and hence their disposal as waste or their recycled use is facilitated. |
