<p>PURPOSE:To eliminate a gap between handrail bars and enable the adjustment of a handrail through the angle change of the handrail bars by connecting the handrail bars by a universal joint provided with a spherical body and a plate body rotatably engaged with each other. CONSTITUTION:In a handrail 13 provided along stairs 10 and passages 11, 12, handrail bars 13a-13c are connected by universal joints 20. The universal joint 20 is provided with a first and a second pipe like shafts 21, 22. The first shaft 21 is provided at its rear end with a joint part 23 to be jointed to the end part of one handrail bar, and the second shaft 22 is provided at its rear end with a joint part 25 to be jointed to the end part of the other handrail bar. A spherical body 24 is formed at the tip of the first shaft 21 so as to be rotatably engaged with an engaging part formed of a plate body 26 provided at the tip of the second shaft 22. The handrail 13 can be then adjusted to the state of the stairs 10 and passages 11, 12 by appropriately changing the angle of the shafts 21, 22 of the universal joint 20.</p> |
