The method is applicable in the metallurgical and chemical industries for recycling scrap raw materials. It ensures high separation degree of the organic fractions. The material, consisting of crushed storage batteries, is subject to separation in a heavy water and scrap paste suspension with a relative weight of 1.7 to 2.2 kg/gm<3> to a first heavy part - this being a metal fraction - and first light part- being an organic fraction. Then the first light part is separated in water to a second heavy part, which is a mixture of hard rubber and PVC fractions and a second light part - a polypropylene fraction. The second heavy part is separated with a solution of relative weight of 1.2-1.7 kg/gm<3> to produce a third heavy part, comprising a hard rubber fraction, and a third light part - a polyvinylchloridic fraction. An alkyleneaminosulphate solution is used as a heavy solution. The latter contains in g/gm<3>: alkyleneamine 100-400, sulphatic ions 50-200 and lead 200-500. In another alternative, the method is applied by using a zinc chloride solution with a concentration of 250-650 g/gm<3>.
