A difference between a current speed (201) and the optimal turbulence speed is measured. The difference and a maximum difference value are compared. The determination, measurement and comparison steps are iterated for determining if the difference is higher than the maximum difference for consecutive times. A current thrust is readjusted to bring the difference to a value lower than that of the maximum difference and to converge the current speed towards the turbulence speed. #CMT# : #/CMT# An independent claim is also included for a navigation assisting device comprising a display unit. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Method for automatically controlling flight of an aircraft in a turbulent air. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The method permits to easily calculate the optimal turbulence speed, and permits to automatically control flight of the aircraft in a simple manner when the turbulence is met.
