<p>PURPOSE: To provide the tape device with high efficiency by automatically attaching and detaching a cartridge, detecting the presence/absence of the cartridge or the like and highly accurately positioning a head with respect to a small-sized tape device provided with an extremely narrow side face. CONSTITUTION: The tape device 10 used for storing digital data is provided with a supporting frame 12 provided with the length and width of a small dimension and provided with a height sufficiently smaller than the length and the width and is provided with the extremely narrow side face. The device 10 is provided with the entrance opening part of a tape cartridge 30 in front and is provided with a tape driving motor 14 on a rear part. At the time of loading or unloading the cartridge 30 in the device 10, the elastic bias force of a spring 122 or the like is received and an operation is automatically performed. Then, by a head positioning mechanism 20 to which a worm gear or the like is incorporated, the positioning of the head corresponding to a position motor operation is highly accurately performed. Also, by an optical guiding device using a photoelectron, the detection of the presence/absence of the cartridge or the like is performed.</p> |
