PURPOSE:To provide the device which varies the line width of characters, figures, etc., represented in outline data format consisting of straight lines and curved lines without the short vector division of curved line parts nor conversion from short vectors to curve expressions. CONSTITUTION:This outline data processor has an input device 9 for inputting the variation quantity of the line width, a vector data generating means 431 which generates vector data based upon adjacent coordinate value data on data points of outline data stored in a character ROM 3 as start and end points, and a vector data moving means 432 which moves the vector data according to the line width variation quantity. Further, this processor is equipped with an intersection arithmetic means 433 which finds the intersection of the prolongations of the moved vector data, a converted outline data generation part 434 which uses the intersection as new coordinate value data and adds a corresponding attribute data to obtain new outline data, and a converted outline data output part 435 which outputs the new outline data. |
