PURPOSE:To perform independently APC(automatic power control) of the power of laser light outputted from each emitting point of a multibeam laser. CONSTITUTION:A laser diode 1 is a multibeam laser having laser light emitting points 2-4 for emitting forward laser light beams LF1-LF3 and backward laser light beams LB1-LB3. The laser comprises a condenser lens 7 for condensing the light beams LB1-LB3 out of the light beams LF1-LF3 and LB1-LB3, and photodetectors PD1-PD3 corresponding to the number of the points 2-4 disposed to photodetect the light beams LB1-LB3 condensed by the lens 7. Accordingly, optical outputs of the light beams LF1-LF3 emitted from the points 2-4 corresponding to the output signals obtained from the photodetectors PD1-PD3 can be independently and automatically controlled (APC). |
