The strip according to the invention is designed to be able to be installed on a standard duct (1) for cables or for wires, at any time, before, during or after laying the conductors in the duct. The rear end of the strip (11) includes a rigid base (20) provided with snap-fastening attachment members having jaws (26) which latch onto one of the lamellae (9) of one of the two side walls (3) of the duct (1). A blocking (locking) lever (30) clamps the jaws (26) and bears at the same time on the upper edge (5) of the wall. The base (20) carries a plate (22) which may extend beyond the opposite wall (3) and which includes lines of weakness where the plate may be broken in order to shorten it. This makes it possible to use a single size of strip for several sizes of standardised ducts and to provide a gap (A) between the free end (13) of the strip and the opposite wall (3). <IMAGE>
