PURPOSE:To surely judge the presence/absence of adhesion and the number of white and/or black picture elements with high accuracy by dividing the number of the white and/or black picture elements with the number of objective reference white and/or black picture elements. CONSTITUTION:A judging object 12 is projected with an illumination device 11 from the down side, the image of the transmitted light is picked up as a binary image, the boundary of respective patterns in the picked-up image is pursued, the position information of the contour constituting picture elements is stored, based on the position information, the number of black and white picture elements in the respective patterns is measured, an area is set from the average or standard deviation of them, and concerning the pattern in the area, the average of black and white picture elements is further calculated and defined as the reference number of picture elements. Concerning the pattern not contained in this area, when the number of internal picture elements is less than a first rated value, the pattern is judged as a foreign matter and the other pattern is judged as adhered grains. Then, the number of these white and/or black picture elements is divided with the reference number of objective white and/or black picture elements and therefore, the number of grains in the adhesive pattern is calculated. |
