Device for climbing boat masts. The invention relates to a device for climbing boat masts without external aid, in open sea or in port. It consists of a canvas (1) pierced with orifices (2) reinforced by washers (3). This canvas (1) is hauled up and tensioned by a halyard (15), and fixed onto its base either on the partners or on the gooseneck. The side cords (16) provide the side balancing. When the user reaches the top of the ladder, he wedges himself in the upper orifices with his feet and makes himself safe with the on-board harness on the snap hook (11) of the halyard (15). The user opens the tool holder (8) and works with his hands unencumbered. The device according to the invention is particularly adapted for climbing boat masts without external aid, in order to work safely thereon. <IMAGE>
