The main rotor (1) rotates in the opposite direction (R) from that (R') of the compacting roll (3) and the wheels carrying it, the rotor (1) throwing the earth (40) which it cuts up forwards and upwards against the enveloping casing (10), the earth falling down behind the main rotor (1), it being possible for the enveloping casing (10) to be adjustable, on the one hand, towards or away from the main rotor (1) and, on the other hand, in terms of transverse inclination. <IMAGE>
