STRUCTURE OF JOINING PART FOR OPTICAL FIBER CABLE AND DEFLECTION PIPE

PURPOSE:To obtain the structure for a joining part of an optical fiber cable and a deflection pipe which can rapidly join the fiber and the pipe with high strength. CONSTITUTION:The end of the optical fiber cable 1 formed by coating an optical fiber or coated fiber 2 with a sheath 3 consisting of a polymer system and the end of the deflection pipe 6 are respectively inserted into a cylindrical part 12 of a joining member 11. The sheath 3 is fastened between the front end of a machine screw 15 and a metallic sleeve 21 inserted into the sheath 3, by which the end of the optical fiber cable 1 is fixed to the joining member 11. The end of the deflection pipe 6 is fastened diametrally by the machine screw 15 penetrated diametrally into the cylindrical part 12 of the joining member 11, by which the end is fixed to the cylindrical part 12. The sheath 3 is strongly pressed to the outer peripheral surface of the sleeve 21 by the front end of the machine screw 15 when the machine screw 15 is tightened, by which the end of the optical fiber cable 12 is securely fixed to the end of the joining member 11.
