- The present invention relates to a device for discharging the liquid contained in a tank, such as a cistern, of the type including a control member (4) with limited displacement travel, a shutoff element (6) for closing the drain orifice (7) provided in the bottom of the said tank (2), and a connection mechanism (9) connecting the said member to the said element. - Advantageously, the said connection mechanism (9) comprises means (14), using pulleys and a flexible link, for multiplying up the travel of the said member (4) so as correspondingly to move the said shutoff element away from the said drain orifice when the said control member is actuated. <IMAGE>
