PURPOSE:To enable a power and a power density of an excitation light to be increased by using a dichroic mirror as a wavesynthesis means. CONSTITUTION:Output light of a semiconductor laser 31 and that of a semiconductor laser 32 are incident on a dichroic mirror 35 via collimator lenses 33 and 34, respectively. The dichroic mirror 35 has steep spectral characteristics and allows light from the collimator lens 33 to be transmitted and light from the collimator lens 34 to be reflected. Namely, the dichroic mirror 35 synthesizes light from the semiconductor lasers 31 and 32 and allows an pumping light to be converged on a solid state laser medium 39 of a laser resonator via a beam-shaping optical system 36 and a condenser lens 37 as one luminous flux and hence the solid medium 39 to be excited for increasing a power and a power density of the pumping light. |
