PURPOSE:To prevent defective developing from being execute by replenishing toner so that it does not drop around a to sensor when it IS replenished to a developing roll part from hopper. CONSTITUTION:A shielding member 24 is arranged at the upper part of a replenishment magnetic roll 18 in the hopper 20. When the toner is replenished to the developing roll 12 part from the hopper 20, one part of the replenishing toner is shielded by the shielding member 24 and it does not drop around the toner sensor 16. That means, the toner is replenished to only the place of the roll 12 part other than the surroundings of the sensor 16. Thus, the level of the toner only on the surroundings of the sensor 16 is lower than the other part even under a state that the toner is uniformized by a toner unifomizing device 14. Therefore, even under such a using state that only the toner at the central part of the roll 12 is continuously consumed, the shortage of the toner is detected by the sensor 16 before a void is generated and the toner is replenished to the roll 12 part by driving the roll 18 based on a signal from the sensor 16. |
