PURPOSE:To provide the Japanese-language syntax analysis system which accurately discriminates the classification of a participial modification clause to perform accurate syntax analysis with respect to a Japanese-language sentence including the participial modification clause which has a word not clear in meaning like 'koto', 'mono', or 'no' as the antecedent. CONSTITUTION:A local syntax analysis part 61 which generates a syntax tree by modification analysis and phrase structure analysis and a global syntax analysis part 62 which analyzes an analysis tree and discriminates the classification of the participial modification clause included in a Japanese-language complex sentence in accordance with a prescribed analysis rule and corrects the analysis tree on demand are provided. If the word modified by the participial modification clause is not clear in meaning, the global syntax analysis part 62 discriminates case relations between the word not clear in meaning and the succeeding predication modified by this word and adds semantic restrictive information defined by case relations to the predication to the word not clear in meaning and discriminates case relations between the word not clear in meaning and the predication in the participial modification clause based on this added semantic restrictive information to determine the classification of the participial modification clause. |
