CONSTITUTION: A feed head 41 is fitted to a ductlet 12 in a conduit line 11 through a tube 49 and an optical fiber 46 is fed from a leading port 43 by driving wheels 47, 48. At this time, a gas medium is allowed to flow from an air inlet 45. The fiber 46 passes the tube 49 together with the gas flow and advances in the ductlet 12. When the flow rate of the gas is repeatedly switched to two of high and low levels, the fiber 46 is more smoothly advanced on the flow in the ductlet 12 as compared with a fixed flow rate. The feeding speed of the optical fiber 46 is properly controlled by the wheels 47, 48.
