1. Water-cooled and compact assembly for producing nuclear energy, the primary system of which yields its thermal energy to a secondary system and in which the core of the reactor, the heat-exchanger between the primary and secondary systems, the primary circulation pumps and the control rods form a single unit with the pressurised vessel, which assembly is characterised in that it can be separated from its utilisation station and can operate independently thereof for a relatively long time period, and in that the said utilisation station contains treatment or exchange installations, or both, for the primary water. Such compact nuclear assemblies are especially intended for ships, but may also form part of a fixed or transportable energy supply installation.
