<p>The present invention provides a method for obtaining a lithographic printing plate comprising the steps of: information-wise exposing an imaging element comprising on a support a silver halide emulsion layer and a layer containing physical development nuclei, developing said information-wise exposed imaging element according to the DTR-process in the presence of developing agent(s) and silver halide solvent(s), treating the obtained silver image with a solution containing a hydrophobic polymer comprising mercapto groups. A thus obtained lithographic printing plate shows an increased printing endurance and the number of copies before a copy of constant quality is obtained is reduced.</p> |
