NOVEL AZEPINE DERIVATIVE, PRODUCTION THEREOF, AND USE THEREOF

An azepine derivative represented by general formula (1) or a nontoxic salt thereof, a process for the production thereof, and a remedy containing the same as an active ingredient for treating diseases in which a serotonergic neuron system participates, said remedy having a strong affinity for serotonin 1A and being useful as anxiolytic, antidepressant, antikinetotic and hypotensive, wherein R1 represents an azepine ring such as (a), R2 represents a phenyl group which may be substituted by one or two trifluoromethyl, halogen, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, nitro or amino groups, a pyrimidinyl, pyrazinyl or pyridyl group each of which may be substituted by a lower alkyl group, a pyridazyl group which may be substituted by a halogen atom, or a benzisothiazolyl group; m is 2 or 3; and n represents an integer of 2 to 5.
