An organic electroluminescent device, and a display device containing the organic electroluminescent device are provided to improve luminous efficiency and lifetime. An organic electroluminescent device comprises a negative electrode(20); a positive electrode(11); and a light emitting layer(14) which comprises a KL host and at least one dopant, wherein both the self-light emitting of the KL host and the light emitting of the dopant occur at a single layer. Preferably fluorescence and phosphorescence occur together at the light emitting layer. Preferably the dopant is at least one selected from a fluorescent dopant and a phosphorescent dopant.
