A pneumatic tyre which comprises sidewalls (4) each provided axially inside a carcass (6) with an inside sidewall rubber layer (10), the inside sidewall rubber layer (10) extending radially inwardly to a bead portion (3) and radially outwardly into a tread portion (5) along the convexly curved inner surf ace of the carcass (6), the sidewall thickness (TA) in a region (S) being substantially constant and smaller than the bead thickness (TC) at a contacting point C, the region S being defined as extending between the maximum width point (A) at which the maximum width of the tyre lies and the 65% height point (B) located at a 65% height (HB) of the tyre section height (H), the contacting point (C) being defined as the point at which the outer surface of the tyre starts to contact the radially outer edge of a rim flange (RF). <IMAGE> |
