<p>Method for the treatment of protein materials comprising the reaction of such material with hexamethylenetetramine (HMT) in an acid medium originating from a strong inorganic acid, HMT being in said reaction transformed in situ into formaldehyde. A protein mateirial is thus obtained, said protein material being protected against bacterial demination in the rumen, but keeping its characteristics in the animal intestine.
