PURPOSE:To shorten the retrieval waiting time of a relational data base, to give the real-time retrieved result of the data base to the user of a client side computer and to improve entire response time. CONSTITUTION:In a first process, a retrieval condition for accessing a relational data base 6 is transmitted (S2) from a client side 1 to a server side computer 2 and in a second process, the server side 2 executes the retrieval of the relational data base 6 only for the previously decided number of data according to the retrieval condition transmitted from the client side 1 and is set on standby (S7 and S11). In a third process, the server side 2 transmits (S9) the retrieved data corresponding to a request (S8) from the client side 1 and returns to the second process (S12).
