Process for producing mats for technical use consisting of at least two layers bonded together, a first layer consisting of a three-dimensional formation with a proportion of hollow space of more than 80%, characterised in that for bonding the layers and, if appropriate, for producing the second layer, grains with a lower melting range than the melting range of the first layer and a significantly smaller cross-section than the hollow spaces forming the first layer are used, in that the grains are brought into contact with the first layer as a coating and in that the coating is subjected to a temperature which is higher than the melting range of the grains and lower than the melting range of the first layer and in that the bonding of the two layers and, if appropriate, the production of the second layer takes place by cooling the melt. |
