Measuring turbidity and mass flow of suspended particles in liquids simultaneously - regulating diode emission power, averaging turbidity over repeated cycles and measuring transition time of flow rate
摘要
The method involves measuring the turbidity during a measurement cycle from the constant light equivalent voltage on a photoreceiver (9). The emitted power from a light emitting diode (4) is adjusted (10) to achieve a constant photoreceiver voltage independent of the turbidity. The turbidity is averaged over 10 measurement cycles and correlated (11) with a standard to produce a value in turbidity units. A flow rate measurement is performed using separate optical fibres and photoreceivers and a time measurement method. The diodes and photoreceivers are mounted in a temp. regulated heat conducting adapter (14). The errors caused by turbulence between the fibres are compensated by a computer (11). ADVANTAGE - Enables simultaneous measurement of turbidity of particles suspended in liquid and of mass flow independent of turbidity.
