The control is for operation of a heater unit in a cooking hob. The heater comprises a cooking plate, a heater unit arranged adjacent to the cooking plate and a thermal cut-out device including a snap switch assembly and an elongate temperature sensor. The control regulates the heat output of the heater in dependence upon a user-selected setting of the control. A connector is provided for connecting the control directly or indirectly to the thermal cut-out device for adjusting the operating temperature of the snap switch assembly in dependence upon the user-selected setting of the control, to control the heat output of the heater unit.
