A herbicide for the control of unwanted plant growth contains (A) at least one cyclohexenone oxime ether of formula (I) and (B) at least one cyclohexanetrione of formula (II) in a synergistic mixt. and inert carriers. The agriculturally acceptable salts of (I) and (II) and their esters with 1-10C carboxylic acids or inorganic acids are also included. The mixt. contg. T-(1-methylthiocyclopropane -1-yl)-2-(1-(trans-3 -chlorallyloximino)-propionyl) - cyclohexane-1,3-diene and 4-cyclopropyl-3,5- cyclohexane dione-1-carboxylic acid ethyl ester are excluded. R1 = 1-6C alkyl; R2 = e.g. H; R3 = e.g. H; R4 = e.g. H, 1-4C alkyl; R5 and R6 = each H, 1-4C alkyl, 3-6C alkenyl or 3-6C alkynyl; W = 1-6C alkylene, 3-6C alkenylene or 5-6C alkinylene (each opt. substd. with 1-3 gps. chosen from 3 1-3C alkyl gps., 3 halogen atoms and 1 methylene gp.), 3-6 alkylene, 4-6C alkenylene (these 2 gps. opt. substd. with 1-3 1-3C alkyl gps. and opt. have 1 CH2 gp. in the chain replaced with O, S, SO, SO2 or N(R6)); R9 = 1-6C alkyl; R10 = e.g. CN; B = e.g. H, OR11; R11, R12 and R13 = each H; R12 and R13 together with the N to which they are attached form a 5- or 6-membered heterocycle (contg. a further O or S or NR4 heteroatom in the ring). USE/ADVANTAGE - The mixt. is synergistic. Suitable amts. of (I) and (II) mixts. are 0.001-5 (esp. 0.1-3, esp. pref. 0.01-1.5) kg/ha. Small amts. of the mixts. give powerful herbicidal effects.
