<p>The present invention is directed generally to maintaining a microplate (1) containing test samples in its wells at an even temperature for measuring biochemical or biological reactions, such as an enzyme reaction,accompanying changes in absorbance. Monochromatic light of various wave lengths, emitted by a light source (3), are transmitted through the test samples in the wells of the microplate (1) so as to measure the absorbance of the test samples. A metal plate (2) with good heat conductivity is in contact with the bottom of each well in the microplate (1) and a perforated board (7) is disposed in spaced relation above the microplate (1) at the starting position thereof. Within a chamber 9, warm air, heated by a heater (17), is blown onto the microplate (1) through the perforated board (7) and is circulated along the metal plate (2). <IMAGE></p> |
