Absorbent article, e.g. sanitary towel or slip liner, has a core of absorbent material and a sheath of liq. permeable sheet material, with a pressure-sensitive self-adhesive layer of hot melt adhesive, covered with a removable protective film, on one side. The novelty is that the adhesive consists of 20-80% stactic polymer (I), 20-80% tackifier resin and 0-80% plasticiser oil. Pref. (I) is an atactic copolymer, esp. an atactic alpha-olefin copolymer, pref. mixed with atacticpolypropylene The components are heated for mixing.
