Proposed is an internal-combustion engine ignition system with a control device (19), designed to control at least one output stage (Z), and with means for suppressing cut-in sparking. The ignition system includes voltage-controlled switches (181, 18n) connected one to each output (A1 ... An) of the control device (19) and which switch all the outputs (A) of the control device (19) to earth (13) until the voltage (VCC) reaches the value necessary to supply the control device (19).
