The pump has a piston (7), with an inclined groove (29) in its jacket surface. The groove is connected to the pump working chamber (11) via a channel (33,35). It has a control edge (31), acting with a control aperture (13) with control edge (17) in the cylinder bore (5). The piston has an additional aperture (37), acting with the control aperture. The additional aperture is connected to the working chamber via a transverse and a longitudinal bore (43,35). A second additional aperture (47) is located in front of it. This is connected to a relief aperture (27) during the delivery stroke. The two apertures are connected during part of the stroke via a ring groove (21) in the cylinder bore wall (5).
