Prepn. of a resinous coating material comprises mixing a polyol cpd. selected from polyester polyol and polyether polyol, isocyanates, solvent and additives. The improvement is that the equiv. wt. ratio of the polyol cpd. to isocyanates is 0.1-10 and the equiv. wt. ratio of the additives to the polyol cpd. is 0.05-5, and hence the process can proceed without solvent.
