PURPOSE:To simplify the constitution of a photo-acoustic apparatus, to omit an X-Y stage for moving a sample, to prevent the occurrence of noises and to obtain the edge effect of the sample readily. CONSTITUTION:A sample containing part 3 for containing a sample 8, an optical pickup 2 for emitting intermittent light on the sample so as to generate acoustic waves, a microphone 4 for detecting the acoustic waves and a preamplifier 5 for amplifying the photo-acoustic signal detected with the microphone 4 are made to form a unitary body, and a photo-acoustic cell 1 is constituted. Thus, the position of the sample is readily determined. An objective lens in the optical pickup 2 is driven with a personal computer, and the light is made to scan. Thus, the occurrence of mechanical noises is prevented. |
