PURPOSE:To enhance position detecting accuracy at low cost, by using reed switches of a normally closed contact system as means for detecting a position of a member reciprocating for image formation. CONSTITUTION:An original platen 1 is provided with magnet 29, and reed switches 30, 31, 32, 35 are arranged on the movement route of platen 1 to detect its position. When magnet 29 is detected by switch 35, platen 1 is stopped at the initial position of the center of the main body, and when a copying switch is turned on, platen 1 is moved backward in the left direction to start exposure, and when platen 1 is detected by switch 30, it is changed over to forward motion in the right direction to effect exposure. Switch 31 between them is used for feeding paper with paper feed rollers, and switch 32 is used for paper feed with resist rollers. In the case of successive copying the first slit scanning is finished, platen 1 is moved backward, turning on switch 30, and platen 1 moves forward again to scan second. |
