PURPOSE:To assure that a lid is prevented from an inadvertent detachment from a console box upon opening the lid with the knobs at both the sides thereof or either alone by means of a double hinged mechanism for opening the left and right halves of the lid separately. CONSTITUTION:A knob 6 at one end of an opening and closing member 2 is depressed to release a locking release pin 7 and a second hook 4 at this end is then rotated by a rotary shaft 8 provided on a mounting body 1 to be disengaged from a fixing shaft 5 in conjunction with this rotation, whereby the opening and closing member 2 can be opened on a fixing shaft 5 on the other end thereof. At this time, hooks 3 and 4 are both double acted by a return spring 10 and the fork 18a of a slider 18 which has moved to the left via a link 19 holds a square shaft part 8a of a rotary shaft 8 between its prongs to hinder its rotation, thereby holding the hooks 3 and 4 engaged with the fixing shaft 5. In case the knobs 6 on both the ends should be depressed at the same time, the hooks 3 and 4 at each end are not disengaged from each fixing shaft 5 by the collision taking place between the sliders 18 through the rotation of the hooks, whereby the opening and closing member 2 is prevented from disengagement from the mounting body 1. |
