PURPOSE:To provide an electrode structure capable of reactivating a deactivated electrode base body without recoating the deactivated base body and without damaging an ion-exchange membrane when used in ion-exchange membrane electrolysis. CONSTITUTION:The tip of a porous active base body 5 coated with an electrode substance is bent, engaged with the open end of a porous electrode base body 3 coated with the electrode substance and having the open end 4 and integrated to constitute an electrode structure. The activity of the entire electrode structure is made higher than the activity of the single electrode base body by the electrode substance of the active base body and structure, and an effect equivalent to or higher than the effect of recoating the deactivated electrode base body with the electrode substance is produced only by engaging the active base body with the electrode base body. |
