PURPOSE:To obtain an optical measuring apparatus by which the effect of the reflected light from the surface of a diffused body on the measurement can be removed. CONSTITUTION:The surface off an organism (a) which is an object to be measured is lit with a linearly polarized light source 13 through a perforated mirror 4. The image of the returned light from the direction of the organism is focused on the light receiving surface of a photodetector 5 through a lens 1, the perforated mirror 4 and a lens 2. The contents of the amounts of light reaching the photodetector are the reflected light from the surface of tissue, the multiple scattered lights at the tissue and the scattered light from the erythrocyte in blood vessels. A polarizer 6 is provided in front of the photodetector 5 so that the polarizing direction crosses the direction of the polarized component of the reflected light from the surface of the organism at a right angle. The reflected light from the surface of the organism keeps the direction of the linearly polarized light from the linearly-polarized light source 13. Therefore, the reflected light component from the surface to be measured as the noise is removed with the polarizer 6. Only the light component reflecting the phenomenon in the object to be measured of a diffused body can be received. |
