PURPOSE:To stably wind a band-like material by winding the band-like material onto a guide roller which is vertically movable, and by mounting a detector onto the guide roller so as to compute a pay-out length and a cutting speed of the band-like material with the result of detection for a movement of the guide roller. CONSTITUTION:An aluminum foil 12 is wound onto a stationary guide roller 21, being paid from a supply reel and passing through guide rollers, and further, is led around a guide roller 11 which is vertically slidable, a stationary guide roller 22 and the like. Thereafter, it is wound onto a wind-up shaft on a winder. After it is secured to the wind-up shaft of the winder, the wind-up operation is started. During this wind-up operation, if the aluminum foil 12 slacks, a pay-out member 2 gives a predetermined tension to the aluminum foil 12 by its weight so as to take up a slack of the foil 12. The movement of the pay-out member 2 is detected by an encoder 3 which is associated with the pay-out member 2 through the intermediary of a toothed belt 16 or the like, thereby the rotational speed of a reel drive motor is controlled in accordance with an output from the encoder 3. |
